Best of the Best

Review by Andrew Allwander

STORY: The American Karate Team gets ready to travel to Korea and fight the Koreans to be the best of the best! They train hard as do the Koreans to get prepared for this big match. Everyone learns valuable lessons along the way.

Phillip Rhee stars in this movie. This movie is pretty cool. I think I like it so much just because it is about Tae Kwon Do (my martial art). So I might be biased. I will admit this movie has a lot of story and nice lessons, but it's so cool because it is so honorable and it makes you go nuts and you are like "YES!!!" So it is cool. After you watch this you will want to fight the ultimate match against your friends and then you will cry with each other and be so honorable and then everyone will win!!! But yeah this movie is so cool because the tournament fighting captures a lot of awesome kicks and real techniques used in Tae Kwon Do and Karate and Hapkido and Judo. This movie is worth it just for the end where all of the fighting is. Ya this movie isn't full of awesome blood and insane fighting, but the fighting at the end is really cool. And the training scenes get you pumped up 80's style! Childhood memories abound when I watch this movie. I love this movie a lot. This movie at the end had the music video to the "Best Of The Best" theme song. OH YEAH! Very funny. It even had really stupid dancers doing the tango or some crap! What's that have to do with fighting? They were in the video for like 3 seconds. Haha! Dumb. This movie rocks so I give it an 8 out of 10.

For another view, which includes a hilarious and spot-on breakdown of the stereotypes in this movie, see this review.
