Help for Grappler Christopher Delgado

FightResource.com is asking for your help this Holiday in support of young Grappler Christopher Delgado.

On August 28 2004, Christopher was struck and dragged by a driver under the influence of alcohol and narcotics. His face was crushed, with multiple fractures and lacerations, resulting in the permanent loss of his eyesight. An arm and leg were shattered. Chris has extraordinary strength and courage - he survived.

His road to recovery is long. The first surgery was to remove plates and screws from his leg. The second surgery was to his face, giving Christopher a new nose, and a return to as much of his original appearance as possible. Doctors estimate he will have up to eleven surgeries during the course of his life.

Christopher studies with Al Verduzco, owner of Extreme Martial Arts. The training is restoring his strength and building his confidence. On a day that epitomizes his character, May 21, 2005 Christopher entered the NAGA Chicago Grappling Championship, and medalled!

We are asking for everyone in the MMA community to help Christopher's rise up. His mother Monica had to quit her full-time job to care for Christopher round the clock, leaving the family in a precarious financial state. He is doing everything he can. Our community has thus far raised thousands of dollars, to be presented to Christopher and his family just before Christmas. This effort has zero overhead; everything you offer will go to the Delgado Fund.

Donations are being accepted via paypal through MMA.tv. The email address is donations@MMA.tv. We would be profoundly grateful for any financial help with this effort, and if you could forward this, and post in publicly.
